Fear about the swine flu outbreak serves as a stark reminder about the importance of lung health for all Canadians. This weekend - April 30 to May 3, a new campaign called Change for the Environment(TM) is appealing to Torontonians to dig deep and help protect everyone’s lung health. By donating the spare coins found in and around their home, Torontonians will support clean, healthy air initiatives - an issue that affects everyone at every age.
According to Dr. Paul Dempsey, paediatrician and co-founder of Change for the Environment(TM), “Our air quality is getting worse not better. Lung disease is on the rise and a recent study conducted by the Canadian Medical Association confirms that too many Canadians are losing their lives in the fight against smog. The time for action is now. Change for the Environment(TM) is the way for every single person to get involved because no donation is too small and every loonie counts.”

Here is a Worthwhile Canadian Initiative: Just about everyone has small change kicking around the house, and it’s such a pain to separate it all, roll it and take it to the bank. But they are trying something new in two Ontario cities for the next three days: Change for the Environment, where you bring in your change to any of dozens of stores accepting donations, and they will spend it all on the environment.
